Show Our Trainers Some Love: Help Them, Help You

It’s warm, it’s sunny, it’s deliciously summer. At Got Sit, this translates into larger group classes. We LOVE this. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing everyone together having fun and rocking the Got Sit training. We’re truly blessed to have such an awesome community of owners and dogs.

As much as we love the larger class sizes, they do bring challenges. More owners, more dogs, various skill sets… you get the picture.

Our trainers do their best to address everyone’s needs and concerns as well as plan for all contingencies. However, a little backup is always welcome.

Here’s a short help-them-help-you checklist to keep in mind when you go to your next class.

Is your battery juiced? You’d be surprised how often the trainers interrupt class to contend with a collar or transmitter that’s lost its charge. Give yours a quick boost before you head out the door to ensure you don’t experience any loss of service.

Are you on the right channel? The other my-collar-isn’t-working culprit is the transmitter switch. You know how easy it is to have it slip to the wrong channel. A quick swipe of your thumb usually gets you up and running without missing a beat.

Do you have your “place?” We know how easy it is to forget these at home. Although our trainers carry spares, it’s a great help if everyone has their own. Please do your best to remember to throw it in the car.

Running late? Take your time joining the class. There’s no need to carry the frazzled state into a class. Take the time you need to compose yourself and your dog. If this means going for a short walk, do it! It’ll help both of you integrate smoothly into the ongoing class.

Losing your cool? Your dog at its limit? It’s okay to leave class early. Better to leave on a semi-good note and try again another day than to work yourself into a lather. Got Sit is about being positive and having fun. Sometimes that means cutting class short.

Pretty simple, right? As in most cases, small things add up. The result? A smooth-running, productive class with focused, on-task trainers. Add sunshine and balmy temperatures and things don’t get much better. See you out there!

As always, Marvin and our trainers are happy to problem-solve with you. Call 425-405-5748 to contact them.
