We contacted Got Sit for our 7yo Maltypoo rescue. She was so aggressive and unsocialized, we were concerned that she was going to hurt someone, especially because she’s fluffy and cute so people assume she’s nice. We had called several places when we first rescued her and were turned down by them. They said she was too aggressive.
Finally, her vet suggested Got Sit. They accepted us immediately and we got started. For about a month and a half we met every week and we tried our best to consistently work on what we learned each week. It was pretty easy to make the commitment when we saw the changes in our pup. Within just 48 hours of our first meeting, she was listening and responding positively to us. It was almost unbelievable.
Skip to this last weekend, 2 months after we began… we took our pup to a Super Bowl party 14 people, 3 dogs, no problem at all. We were cautiously optimistic and used all our skills and the collar and our pup actually enjoyed the party—and so did we! She ran around with the other pups, people made eye contact with her (something we all knew was not previously acceptable), several brave souls even reached down to pet her and she was cautious, but ended up being fine with it. This was an experience that I never imagined could ever, ever, EVER, happen.
We *adored* our trainers and were impressed with their understanding of pup behavior. We are actually looking forward to begin group training, which is saying a lot because our pup’s group behavior has made hanging with other dogs very stressful up until now. I wholeheartedly recommend Got Sit. This has completely changed our ability to socialize with our pup by our side.
