Klondike

|
My arrival story.

I was looking to adopt a pup to grow up with my kids and to be another member of our little family. After a month of research into different breeds, I decided a Husky would be a perfect addition.I spent a 2nd month looking in shelters and checking with rescue orgs. I then moved my search to breeders in and out of the area. After about two weeks, I was still unsuccessful in finding a breeder with pups available. I was ready to give up when I happened on an ad online with a photo of a goofy looking Husky grinning ear to ear. I immediately thought, that's him! That is our Husky. I contacted the breeder and arranged to meet the next day. We were introduced to 5 pure white Huskies. Klondike walked over and gently licked our toes while his siblings jumped around excitedly but kept a distance. I think he chose us. I learned that he had been adopted before for a brief time but returned because he refused to interact with the family. I'd like to think it's because he knew we were coming for him

Why we love Got Sit Dog Training.

Klondike is an older pup. At 10 months, he was not house broken and did not know even the simplest commands. The first training session on my own with him was disastrous. To be fair, I must admit that I, most likely, was the cause of the confusion.I had spent months reading books and online resources.I attempted to apply all methods I 'd learned in my research. Klondike just gave up on me after about 20 minutes and flopped over, refusing to try anything else. I again turned to the Internet(funny how reliant I 've become) for help and searched for dog training professionals. There were many companies to select from. After reading reviews and training methods described on several company sites, I selected Got Sit. I have just finished my second training session today.I 've had the good fortune to have met with Marvin, Nikki, and Anthony. Each were knowledgable and passionate about what they do. I learned the importance of consistency. Most importantly, it' s fun.

Owner: Anne

City:

Breed: Siberian Husky

I Like: Having my belly rubbed while in mom's lap :)

Favorite Toy: Squeaky tennis ball, COVERED in peanut butter!

Pet-peeves: I'm easy going, nothing seems to be of bother.

Favorite Walk: Jackson Park, lots of grass to explore.

Best Trick: We adopted Klondike from a breeder who provided him with zero training. At 10 months, he is just starting to learn the basics. He is however, exceptionally adept at sitting when we prep his lunch. He knows he will not be served unless he can wait patiently and sit still.
