My Jilly Bean(blk Lab) is getting on in years. I live alone with just my animals and really wanted a new puppy before Jill passes. I have always wanted a hound type dog. I love the way they bark. I started researching different hound types. Beagles, Bassets, Coon, and Blood. I've always wanted a big dog. I read everything I could and talked to a lot of people. I fell in love with the bloodhound. There are no breeders here in Washington that had any litters last year so I found Morgan in Oklahoma. She was shipped to me on American Airlines Feb 2 2013 8 weeks old to the day. 25lbs and cute as can be. Everyday since she has made me smile and laugh. A true Joy! The cat actually took about a year to warm up to her but they get along great now.
Everything ever written and talked about bloodhounds is, you cant take them anywhere without being on a leash. They wont listen to you and will run off when they catch a scent. 3 weeks in and Morgan heals and comes on command.
After only 3 weeks Morgan is listening. Comes when I call and looks to see what command I will ask for next. She is making more eye contact and no pulling on the leash when in the feed store. I'm pretty sure she appreciates not having the pinch collar on anymore. She looks forward to me putting her Got Sit collar on everyday. Behaving allows her to come into the office with me instead of hanging out in her kennel while I'm at work. I'm gaining more trust with her and by this fall I'm sure we will be out in the woods finding the truffles no leash.
